Mr. I. V. Sharma is an accomplished chartered accountant, actively practicing as a leading C.A. in Mangalore for the past 21 years. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an Associate of Institute of Internal Auditors, Florida (USA), Mr. Sharma has vast experience with diverse industries. His clients include Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd., Citibank, Citifinancial, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Spice Telecom, Manipal Media Group and a host of small and medium enterprises. He has exposure to the strategy, structure and systems of well-managed corporates and has an astute acumen in financial matters.

Prof. S. Shankara Bhat
M. Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. S. Shankara Bhat is an eminent plant pathologist and a well-known microbiologist. He joined as a faculty of the PG Department of Botany, University of Mysore in the year 1974 and became the professor in 1994. He has the distinction of heading the PG Department of Botany, for 2 years. He was the main architect in introducing microbiology programme in the University of Mysore, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. When the PG department
of microbiology was formed he took over as its head. After serving for more than 30 years with devotion and dedication, he attained superannuation in the year 2004. Prof. Shankara Bhat worked in Bangkok for 2 years as a visiting scientist of the Rockefeller Foundation, USA and he was a member of the Advisory Committee for "Compendium of Corn Diseases" (2nd edition) published by American Phytopathological Society, USA. He has guided 5 students for the award of doctorate degree and has more than 50 journal papers to his credit, besides contributing a chapter on "The Downy Mildews" published by the Academic Press, London. He has been the best research paper awardee of the Indian Phytopathological Society. Dr. Shankara Bhat's pioneering work on "Die- Back" of Neem and founding of the Plant Clinic in the University of Mysore are novel contributions to the society.

N.G. Karanth, FANE
B. Tech., M.E., Ph.D.(Chem. Eng.)
Prof. N.G. Karanth is a renowned chemical engineer, a practicing biochemical engineer and a reputed biotechnologist. He is a Bachelor's degree holder in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, Masters from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and a Ph.D. from the University of Salford, UK. After a stint as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Houston, USA he returned to India to head the biochemical engineering activities of the Chemical Engineering Division at the National Chemical Laboratory, Poona. In 1984 Dr. Karanth joined Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore as the head of the Fermentation Technology and Bioengineering Department.
Currently, Dr. Karanth is serving as the Deputy Director of CFTRI as well as heading the Fermentation Technology and Bioengineering Division.
He has led many biotechnology research programmes with grants from National and International Agencies. Dr. Karanth has guided many students for Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry and biotechnology and authored over 100 publications. He has 25 patents to his credit and was a visiting Professor of Biochemical engineering at IIT, Madras. A Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (FNAE), he has been the recipient of many awards for outstanding contribution to chemical engineering and biotechnology research in the country. He has vast experience in fermentations, biosensor development and in the production of bioactive molecules.

Prof. U. Shrinivasa

Dr. Udipi Shrinivasa is a distinguished professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Science (I.I.Sc.), Bangalore. He has a doctoral degree in Faculty of Engineering from I.I.Sc; M.Tech. and B.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT, Madras. He has practical experience exceeding three decades in Sustainable Development of Rural India and Green Power. Prof. Srinivasa also has keen interest in Advanced Mechanical Engineering Design and Manufacturing. He has more than 75 publications in reputed journals and has guided 120 M.E. students and about 10 in M.Sc. (Engg) level. He has produced a dozen doctorates and has abiding interest and vast experience in biodiesel
programme.
